Jonathan Thomas is the new football coach at Mason County

The Mason County High School has chosen a new head football coach for the Mason County School System.  The choice is current assistant coach Jonathan Thomas. He has been an assistant at Mason County for 12 years. Jonathan began his coaching career at Mason County during the 2003-2004 football season by helping coach the freshmen, JV and varsity football teams. During his tenure at Mason County, Jonathan has had extensive experience helping coach the Royals football team. He has been an offensive and defensive coordinator, coached the wide receivers, quarterbacks, linebackers and has coached the offensive and defensive lines.  Jonathan graduated from Midway College in 2007 with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. He also attended Northern Kentucky University and Maysville Community and Technical College. Jonathan is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree at the University of the Cumberlands.
Jonathan is a 5th grade Science and Social Studies teacher at Mason County Intermediate School. He is a 2000 graduate of Mason County High School and a former member of the Royals football team where he played offensive and defensive tackle from  1996 - 1999. Jonathan Thomas is married to Erica, a radiology technician at Meadowview Regional Medical Center.  They have 3 children – Montez, a sophomore, Iyanna, an eight grader, and Keshaun, a third grader.
